Term 1 Class Agreement

As we continue our Online Learning and Teaching we believe it is important to revisit our Class Agreement that we established in Term 1.

Learning from home will be different to learning at school, so are the expectations the same?

You have each been assigned a statement in our agreement to comment on.

Please think about the following when writing your comment:
  • Does the statement still apply to our new learning environment?
  • Does it need to be adjusted or completely changed? If so, what would you suggest we could change or include in the statement to reflect Online Learning and Teaching.
Please leave a comment below with your feedback regarding our Class Agreement.

  1. I think the trickiest part of learning online is going to be keeping attention on my work as it is easy to get distracted by everything around. I also think that building relationships and keeping good connections is going to be hard.

  2. I think that rule no.3 will not have to change because we will still have problems to solve, even if they’re a bit different to our normal problems. We will still be able to solve them calmly, sensibly and fairly. We are just at home now. I think that it won’t have to be changed.

  3. Hi Mrs Douglas
I think your post is great for learning online in this tough time. I think that it will be different because we are alone and not with any one so there is a different environment to try and use them in a different way to how we would so it will be challenging to be those things and have no one around.
    Yours sincerely Tahlia

  4. Hi 4D
My statement is Move And play safely.
This is definitely different now because we are in isolation and we can’t travel unless we need to so we are going to need to move around cautiously washing our hands after going some where like the shops.
    Stay safe,
    Chloe

  5. Mrs Douglas I think you’re post was fantastic the colours made me want to read it even more. I think it could be hard to respect others through your words ,actions and moments. Because lots of people are stuck at home so some might try to be mean to people. Which is not right so we need to be nice so we aren’t being mean or heart full to people. This could be harder for some people.

  6. I think rule no.2 shouldn’t be changed too much, but you need to take care of yourself, especially in this pandemic. Wash your hands, stay inside, keep a distance of 1.5 metres, you NEED to do these things. But don’t forget about taking care of others. You won’t be safe if they aren’t, especially younger siblings. They might not understand what is going on, so you do need to take care of yourself, others and property. Germs may spread through the touch of dirty hands of vase, pottery, well, anything really! This rule should not be bent or changed.

  7. Hi Ms Douglas,
I think your post is great and very helpful for all of us right now.
I think we all miss friends and family. I agree with you about the trickiest part of our learning because there are many many ways to get distracted in our own homes. We have to stick to these rules and stay connected.

  8. My statement is Work as well as you can and let others do the same. Now it is very different int his crisis so, we are not going to school so we aren’t sitting next to a classmate so we can’t possibly distract them. You can get distracted by your family or something in your house though. You can distract your friends though. If you keep on text or emailing them in school hours, they will normally be doing there work as there supposed to be doing.

  9. Hi 4D,
My statement is to move and play safely.
This is now very different since we can not be close to each other. When we go out we have to wash are hands really well with soap to stay safe from germs.

  10. I think these rules are great rules to follow. We should be able to know to follow these rules because they will keep us safe online and also keep us happy because we will know that these rules will keep us safe wile blogging.

  11. My rule is respect others through your words, actions and manners. In my mind this rule applies more now that we are all at home. Because you don’t know if the person that reads it is stressed, overwhelmed or sad and you shouldn’t upset them more.

  12. I think working as hard as we can is great, because if we’re doing it independently our brains get a lot smarter. When no one is telling us the answer, we’re doing the thinking on our own. So we become super dooper smart.
